How  will your gift be used?

Your gift will be used to fund scholarships so that those who need the services of Life Enrichment will not be turned away because they have a limited income or many expenses.

It will be used for families like Margaret's (not her real name) who was staying at home alone while her daughter went to work. Margaret's severe arthritis kept her from standing up alone or moving without assistance. 

Her daughter worried about mom being at home alone but felt she didn't have a choice. Margaret wanted to live at home, not move to a nursing home.

One day, worry turned to reality. Margaret fell and lay in the floor 7 hours until her daughter returned. Someone suggested Life Enrichment, which not only added years to her life but added life to her years. Her low income made her eligible for scholarship help, provided through gifts like yours.

Margaret's health improved because the LEC nurse monitored her diabetes and high blood pressure. The physical therapy made her more agile, and the stimulating programs slowed down memory loss. Socialization at LEC was far more beneficial than being isolated at home.

For a decade, Margaret attended LEC, especially enjoying the children who visited. She liked to tell them about attending the White House egg hunt one Easter when she was a young girl.

Margaret's daughter was able to keep working, providing a home for her and her mother, who lived in that house, where she was born, until the day she died – thanks to friends like you.
